As CEO of BackDRAFT Corporation, Brian now takes the helm of his fifth consecutive company. Deborah Johnson Chief Financial Officer
Schooled in practical corporate finance as an executive with the Bank of Nova Scotia, Deborah Johnson brings to BackDRAFT 30 years experience in the financial management of small businesses. As CFO for five successful companies, Deborah offers strong financial leadership through visionary planning and flawless accounting practices. Under her comptrollership, BackDRAFT Corporation and Stiff Sentences, Inc. have earned reputations among clients and suppliers as stable, profitable enterprises that make their targets and honor their obligations.
Simon Hanington Chief Operations Officer
After eight years of a fast-track technology career, Simon Hanington emerged as a systems architect with hands-on knowledge of programming, network design, technical development and troubleshooting. As CTO of BackDRAFT Corporation, Simon oversaw the development of the company's flagship application, and directed programming and graphic design teams in the creation of a robust product that is fast, flexible and scalable for global roll-out. As a senior production executive with sister company Stiff Sentences Inc., Simon led the retooling of that company to adopt an enterprise-wide systems approach, thereby enabling several significant contract wins in the international writing marketplace. Now as COO of BackDRAFT Corporation, Simon will ensure that all company systems scale to meet the demands of rapid growth.
James Hanington Chief Learning Officer
With five years experience developing both the BackDRAFT student-relations environment and the company's comprehensive customer-experience program, James Hanington has the practical, customer-facing experience required to lead the development of a true learning organization. Coordinating the activities of BackDRAFT trainers, and leading the evolution of the pedagogy that drives the company's online training experience, James has a mandate to ensure that BackDRAFT is the best writing training available in the English-speaking world. James has a degree in political science, and has worked extensively with universities and learning organizations around the world.
Sandhya Casson Vice-president Marketing
With 15 years on the frontline of Nortel's strategic marketing, business development and marketing communications programs, Sandhya Casson has proven her ability to conceive and manage programs, people and change with equal effect. Sandhya brings to BackDRAFT her exceptional knowledge of market dynamics, and will direct the corporation's efforts to enter and dominate the rapidly emerging global market for writing quality-management systems. Focused on strategic sales, brand execution and market impact, Sandhya will set both the direction and pace of all BackDRAFT sales activity.
